Ethics and Publishing Policies

The International Journal of Modern Engineering and Management (IJMEM) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics, transparency, and academic integrity. The journal strives to ensure accountability and fairness across the entire editorial and publication process, thereby strengthening the trust of authors, reviewers, readers, and the wider research community. Upholding ethical practices is central to IJMEM, and every stakeholder—authors, reviewers, and editors—is expected to follow these principles to preserve the credibility of scholarly communication.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting to IJMEM must ensure that their manuscripts are original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere. Proper citation and acknowledgment of all data, sources, and prior research are mandatory, ensuring due credit is given to earlier work. Authors should present their findings truthfully, with clarity and precision, avoiding any misrepresentation of results. They are also expected to disclose potential conflicts of interest that may influence interpretation or conclusions.

All listed co-authors must have made a substantial contribution to the research, writing, or analysis presented in the manuscript, and must approve the final version before submission. Once a paper is submitted, authors are expected to engage positively with the editorial and peer-review process. This includes responding promptly to queries, providing clarifications when required, and addressing reviewer comments constructively. By adhering to these practices, authors contribute to maintaining academic integrity and strengthening the overall scholarly value of IJMEM.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Peer reviewers form the backbone of IJMEM’s quality assurance process. Their role is to ensure that each manuscript is evaluated on the basis of its academic merit, originality, and technical rigor. Reviewers are expected to provide objective, detailed, and constructive feedback that helps authors improve the quality of their work. Criticism should be professional and focused on the research content rather than the authors themselves.

Reviewers must respect confidentiality at all times and refrain from sharing or using unpublished material for personal or professional advantage. They should avoid conflicts of interest that may affect their judgment, and if such conflicts arise, they must inform the editorial team immediately. IJMEM relies on reviewers to act with fairness, impartiality, and integrity so that the peer-review system remains trustworthy and effective.

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors of IJMEM oversee the publication process with impartiality, transparency, and professionalism. Their decisions are based solely on the scholarly quality, originality, and relevance of the manuscript to the scope of the journal, without discrimination of any kind. Editors are entrusted with ensuring that every manuscript undergoes a fair and thorough review process, handled by suitably qualified reviewers.

Editors are also responsible for safeguarding the confidentiality and integrity of the review system. They must treat all manuscripts with discretion and act promptly in cases where ethical clarifications are needed. In addition, editors are expected to maintain clear communication with both authors and reviewers, ensuring that the process remains smooth, respectful, and academically rigorous. By upholding these responsibilities, editors maintain the credibility of IJMEM and protect the interests of the research community it serves.

Ethical Commitment

By adhering to these ethics and publishing policies, IJMEM ensures that all published work is reliable, original, and impactful, contributing meaningfully to the advancement of engineering and management sciences. This commitment reinforces the journal’s global reputation and builds confidence among authors, readers, institutions, and industry partners. The policies not only safeguard the integrity of the research record but also ensure that IJMEM remains a trusted platform for the exchange of knowledge, innovation, and professional growth.
